I think of the Adventuress’s dress as the kind of dress you wear on days when you’re feeling bold and want to show the world you mean business. A truly ‘casual smart’ dress with a Nehru collar, it has a slightly more serious vibe than some of our other garments but this is softened by the looseness of the bodice, the tiny ruffle and the rows of shirring that gently cinch the body at the empire waistline. It’s comfortable and easy-to-wear, can be slipped over the head and has side-seam pockets.

We chose cotton chambray (which has a blue warp and a white weft) for its breathability and warmth but also because we love its special luminous colour.

This Adventuress’s dress is adorned with our “Jaipur” embroidery. There are two different, repeating Mughal-inspired embroidery motifs (designed by Eloise) along the hemline and these are echoed by similar but simpler ornamentation on the buttoned cuffs.

The Adventuress’s dress can be machine-washed on a gentle programme at 30 degrees max, air-dried and pressed with an iron.
